我的爸爸是条龙 is a creator on Douyin (Chinese version of TikTok) that I adore. Their style of combining animation and real footage is exactly what I want to achieve in my short film. I realised the majority of their real footage is actually just a picture and then the frame moves up or down/zooms in or out. The amount of real footage is actually not a lot, but I quite like how they incorporate real people into the videos, yet they still feel like a part of the animation by having googly eyes drawn over them. Majority of the time, the characters are painted using only flat colours and in the most basic forms.

I realised that I don't need a fully rendered and polished piece for my final, rather a strong storyline that makes the audience care. That should be the main part of my planning, so will be implementing similar techniques to make the animation process easier and fulfil that goal.
