This area was going to be used for the last scene. I needed it to look like a blank slate with a bunch of boxes. It was supposed to be the true new beginning for Gary. I wanted the wall to be completely white and empty, so when the paintings went on, this was like him accepting those more vulnerable parts of himself and finally letting himself express genuine feeling through his tears.

This space was good as the main light source also came from the side, paralleling the initial montage. However, I soon realised the natural lighting wouldn't be strong or bright enough, so I tested a with a few artificial light settings.

I knew I wanted this scene to feel warm and emotional, I thought a more yellow-ish light would be appropriate compared to the harsh and cold blue. Although, I was careful not to go too yellow, making the scene look overly saturated and taking the audience out of the moment.

The boxes also say 'FAMILY' to subtly imply the new beginnings narrative and the baby at the end.
