I did the establishing shots at different timings of the day to show the change in the narrative timeline. I woke up at around 7 in the morning to get the morning establishing shot, it worked out really well as I got some bird chirps too. Then a midday one where I did want to do a timelapse of the sun going down, but my window was facing the wrong side, so the effect wasn't as dramatic as I had hoped. I then waited until around 10pm to do the night time shot.
I didn't want the establishing shots to only be static wide shots, so I would pan or tilt the camera for some variation.
